MakeIX exists to foster genuine craft, productive feedback, and collaboration. These guidelines define the expectations for all members of our community.
Be Constructive and Generous
Sharing early-stage work takes courage. When reviewing projects, give thoughtful, actionable feedback. Point out what works well, identify specific areas for improvement, and offer potential solutions.
- •Focus critique on the product, design, or business logic—never attack the person
- •Explain the 'why' behind your feedback so the creator can learn and iterate
- •Acknowledge the effort and craft that went into the build
Authentic Ownership & Attribution
MakeIX is dedicated to authentic creators. Always be honest about what you built versus what was provided by templates, libraries, or third-party creators.
- •Only submit projects that you own, co-created, or have explicit permission to represent
- •Give proper credit to open-source libraries, contributors, design inspirations, and assets
- •Never misrepresent someone else's work, open-source project, or startup as your own
High-Signal Discussions & No Spam
Keep comments and interactions relevant, focused, and valuable to the creator and other readers.
- •No unsolicited sales pitches, affiliate links, or promotional spam in comments
- •Do not leave repetitive or automated comments simply to gain profile clicks
- •Keep discussions relevant to the project's features, asks, and industry space
Zero Tolerance for Hostility
We are committed to maintaining a safe, inclusive, and harassment-free environment for all makers regardless of background, identity, or experience level.
- •No hate speech, harassment, discrimination, threats, or personal intimidation
- •No trolling, bad-faith arguments, or demeaning remarks
- •Respect creators who are learning to code or building their very first project
Safe & Lawful Creations
Projects submitted to MakeIX must be safe, legal, and respectful of user privacy and device integrity.
- •No malware, spyware, phishing tools, or unauthorized exploit software
- •No deceptive investment schemes, illicit goods, or illegal services
- •Do not collect private user information without clear consent and privacy policies
Enforcement & Reporting
Project owners retain full rights to moderate comments on their listings. Violations of community rules may result in formal warnings, comment removal, project unpublishing, or permanent account termination. If you encounter content that breaches these guidelines, please report it or reach out to our team.
